After The Fire - Erosion, Flood and Debris Control

The effects of the Colby Fire may have a lasting effect on residents of northern Azusa

The Azusa Police Department would like to remind residents located near the recent burn area of the Colby Fire, to be cognizant of the potential for erosion and debris flowing down the mountain towards residential areas. There is also the potential for possible flood like conditions.

Educate Yourself

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works ("DPW") has an online homeowners guide which can be accessed here. Take time to familiarize yourself with the information in this guide. Additionally, you can call the DPW at 800-675-HELP (800-675-4357) with any questions you may have.

What About Sandbags?

Self-serve sand bags can be obtained at Los Angeles County Fire Department Station 32 located at 605 N. Angeleno Avenue  or at Station 97 at 18453 E. Sierra Madre Avenue, both of which are in Azusa.
