Suspects Arrested For Stabbing

Suspects Arrested For Stabbing
On September 14, 2014 at approximately 7:00 PM, officers from the Azusa Police Department responded to a fight call in the 600 block N. Alameda Avenue. Upon arriving, the officers discovered a male in his 20's was the victim of a stabbing. The victim was treated for non-life threatening wounds at an area hospital.  Detectives from the department arrived on the scene, and began their investigation.

Through their diligent work, the detectives developed information that led to Andres Peralta (Age 20) and Abraham Tapia (Age 20), both of Azusa, being identified as suspects who participated in the assault.

On September 17th, members of the department's Special Weapons And Tactics Team ("SWAT") and the detective bureau served a search warrant related to this case.  A secondary search warrant was served at a location in Covina, with the assistance of the Covina Police Department's Detective Bureau.

Peralta and Tapia were arrested during the search warrant services, and are now being held at the Azusa Police Department Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.  Their arraignment is set for September 19th at 8:00 am in West Covina Superior Court.
