Man Tries To Kidnap Child

Man Tries To Kidnap Child

Last night at approximately 8:30 pm, officers were dispatched to 540 E Gladstone Street in regards to an attempted kidnapping. Once officers arrived, they spoke with the mother of a 5 year old child.

The mother told officers she was watching her child and a friend playing in the apartment complex. The mother took her eyes off of the children momentarily, then suddenly heard one of the children screaming. She looked in the direction of the children and saw a male pulling her child southbound through the complex.

The mother attempted to stop the male, and he released the child. The male fled through the apartment complex and out of sight.

The male was described as a Hispanic adult in his 20’s, approximately 5’04”, weighing 150 lbs, and a bald head. He was wearing blue jean shorts and a short sleeved white collared shirt with a blue and red stripe.

Officers conducted an area check for the male, however he was not located. The child was not injured during this crime.
