I've witnessed vehicles traveling on surface streets in our community going from 50 to 65 MPH and I haven't noticed our Police Department getting control of this situation.
Most deadly crashes in our roadways are caused by aggressive driving. Signs of such driving isn't relegated only to the excessive rate of speed but also tailgating and other types of risky driving habits.
I think the Police Department has a duty to make the driving public be aware that such practices lead to very bad consequences.
Matter of fact the same goes for the CHP since I've yet to see freeway drivers being pulled over and ticketed for going 80 MPH while just about kissing the rear bumper of the car in front of them.
Why are all these authorities acting like aggressive driving doesn't concern them and doing something about it? The disproportionate deaths of our very young drivers should concern everybody.
