A community meeting was held today at North View Intermediate School in Duarte for residents of the areas affected by the San Gabriel Complex Fire. During this meeting, Azusa Police Department learned that the Mountain Cove evacuations have NOT been lifted and will remain in effect until further notice. It is still Fire official's concern that depending on weather and wind conditions, the fire may still cause a threat to the Mountain Cove community. At this time, the Azusa Police Department has coordinated escorts for residents of Mountain Cove to pick up essentials. We ask that Mountain Cove residents meet at Ranch Rd. and line up as we plan to escort a group of vehicles at a time to retrieve essential items needed during the evacuation. Escorts will be provided between 8am-12pm or 4pm-8pm on Thursday, June 23rd. At this time, the fire is 15% contained and 4,900 acres burned. Captain Fleming will continue to update the community after each meeting/conference. We will keep you posted on all social media platforms as time permits. Twitter is still the best source for up-to-date information.
