Alarm Information

How Much Does A
Permit Cost?

Normal Fees
The fees for an alarm registration or an alarm registration renewal are as follows:
  • Registration or Renewal Fee (Residential) : $25.00
  • Registration or Renewal Fee (Commercial): $25.00

Discounts For Seniors Or The Disabled
Reduced rates for senior citizens (Age 65 years or older) and individuals with permanent disability are:

  • Residential: Registration or renewals: $12.00
  • Commercial: Registration or renewals: $12.00
Please Note: 
In order to qualify for the senior rate, applicants must provide the proof of age, be listed as property owner of lessee, and must have alarm contract in their name. In order to qualify as an individual with permanent disability, the individual must provide proof of permanent disability. If a registration or renewal is not paid within 30 days, there will be a late fee of $25.00 added to the amount due. An alarm permit cannot be transferred to another person or location.

How Do I Get A Pet
License?

Animal licenses may also be purchased by completing the license application form and mailing it, along with the license fee payment, proof of rabies vaccination and proof of sterilization, to the address on the application. You may purchase a designer tag by completing this additional form and submitting it with the license application. Designer tags contain your personal contact information on the reverse side of the official license and cost an additional $15. Designer tag sale proceeds are used to enhance animal care at our shelters .

How Much Is A Pet
License?

Dog License Options

  • One year license for spayed / neutered dogs is $20 ($7.50 for seniors)
  • One year license for unaltered dogs is $60
  • Microchip* is $25.00
  • Licensing your dog is mandatory

Cat License Options

  • One year 1 license for spayed / neutered cats is $5 ($7.50 for seniors)
  • One year license for unaltered cats is $10.00
  • Microchip* is $25.00
  • Cat licensing is voluntary
*The microchip is a miniature transponder about the size of a grain of rice inserted under the skin of the pet between the shoulder blades

**Licenses are valid each year from July through June. Annual registration begins in June. If you register your pet after the August deadline, you are subject to a fine.

How Do I Pay A Parking Citation?

To pay in person, you may come to the Azusa Police Department and a Records Specialist will assist you. Note:  Acceptable methods of payment are the following: cash, check (Payable to the “City of Azusa”), credit card or money order.

To contest a parking ticket please contact the Records Division at (626) 812-3233, within 21 days of issuance of the ticket.

When making any payment, please provide us with a copy of the citation, citation number or the license plate number of the vehicle.  

I Received A Citation Even Though I Have A Disabled Person's
Placard. What Do I Do?

If you have a handicap parking placard, but forgot to place it in the front windshield, please call the the records bureau at (626) 812-3233.

How Do I Pick Up
Property Belonging
To A Friend/Relative?

Bring valid identification to the AZPD Jail Lobby between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM to retrieve property.

How Do I Get My
Property?

Property is considered anything which is not evidence.  Items which have been retained by the police department for safe keeping, or found items, are considered property.

You can call (626) 812-3200 and schedule an appointment to retrieve your property.

What Are Your Hours?

The police department records section is open during the following times:

Monday thru Thursday, 7 AM to 6PM

Friday and Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM

Sunday, 7AM to 12 PM

Vehicle Impounds

How Do I Get My Vehicle Out Of
Impound?

You must come to the police department with a valid driver's license. Once we have verified the registration for the vehicle is current, and you are the registered owner, you will be required to pay a $150 fee.  If you were arrested for a DUI, the fee is $205.00.

We will give you release paperwork, which you can take to the towing company who is holding your vehicle. 

You will need to pay any towing and storage fees at the towing company.
