On August 30, 2016, at approximately 9:30 am. an alert subject called the Azusa Police Department after seeing damage to a 2005 gold or tan Hyundai Santa Fe. The caller believed the type of damage was suspicious.
The registered owner told the investigating officer that they hit a bicyclist sometime between last Saturday night (08/27/2016) and Monday morning (08/29/2016). The owner of the vehicle stated that after the collision, friends of the bicyclist laughed. After allegedly speaking to the bicyclist, the owner of the vehicle left the scene, and the bicyclist left the scene as well.
The registered owner of the vehicle was unable to provide an exact date, time or location for this incident.
The Azusa Police Department is seeking any information regarding the vehicle depicted in the attached photographs. The license plate number has been intentionally blurred to protect the integrity of any possible pending investigation.
We have not determined whether or not a crime has occurred at this time.
