Pedestrian Injured in Traffic Collision

On October 21st at about 8:57 PM, Azusa Police Officers investigated a traffic collision in which a 64 year old female Azusa resident was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Ninth Street and Azusa Avenue. The investigation revealed that the 64 year old woman was walking in a marked crosswalk on the west side of the intersection. She was struck by a vehicle that was turning left onto Ninth Street from northbound Azusa Avenue​. The driver of the vehicle, a 40 year old female Azusa resident, immediately stopped, remained at the scene, and notified the police. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center for further treatment. Neither drugs, alcohol, nor cell phone violations appeared to be a factor in the accident. This accident is still under investigation.
