Motorcyclist Injured in Traffic Collision with Vehicle

On October 31, 2016 at about 9:21 AM, Azusa Police Department Officers investigated a traffic collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle which occurred on the 900 blk E. Alosta Avenue. The driver of the pickup truck, a 29 year old male from Glendora, attempted to make a left turn into a driveway, in front of the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist, a 28 year old male from Los Angeles, was driving straight and appeared to have laid down his motorcycle in an attempt to avoid colliding with the truck. The motorcyclist slid underneath the front portion of the truck and was trapped temporarily, but was able to free himself prior to the Officer's arrival.

The motorcyclist, who was conscious and alert, was treated at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics and was airlifted to the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center for further treatment. His current medical condition is not known.

Personnel from the Azusa Police Department Traffic Division handled this investigation. The driver of the pickup truck was cited on scene for making an unsafe turn. The driver of the motorcycle was found to have a suspended drivers license and was not endorsed to ride a motorcycle.
