On September, 11, 2014, shortly before 10:00 PM alert citizens in the 400 block of W. Tenth Street, saw Joshua Gomez sitting inside a Honda sedan that did not belong to him. When confronted by a resident he quickly left on foot. A few minutes later another citizen saw Gomez trying to enter another Honda a short distance away in the 1000 block of N. Orange Ave and called the police. Although Gomez had left before the first officers arrived on scene, an alert officer searching the area found him trying to enter a third vehicle, a Toyota Camry, which was parked in the 300 block of W. Crescent Street. Investigating officers learned Gomez was using a modified vehicle key to open locked vehicle doors. He was arrested on two counts of attempted burglary, one count of burglary, and for being in possession of a burglary tool (modified door key). He is being held at the Azusa P.D. Jail on $25,000.00 bail.
