Defendant Augusto Gonzalez De La Cruz, 57 years old, is charged in a 20 count felony complaint with operating a fraudulent immigration service business between May 01, 2015 and January 26, 2018. An arrest warrant was issued for Gonzalez De La Cruz on February 06, 2018.


Defendant Gonzalez De La Cruz is being charged with operating a fraudulent immigration services business in Azusa. He falsely promised to expedite the processing of visas, resident alien cards and citizenship petitions for the victims and their families. Gonzalez De La Cruz told the victims he worked for the court and offered immigration, tax and criminal law services.


Gonzalez De La Cruz pretended to provide services by referring victims to a medical clinic to obtain medical certificates and staged meetings at the courthouse and immigration building. He collected approximately $183,300 from 15 victims and did not provide the promised services.


In 1993, defendant Gonzalez De La Cruz was charged with four counts of felony grand theft in case YA014300. The charges also involved fraudulent immigration services.
On February 09, 2018, Gonzalez De La Cruz was arrested by members of the Azusa Police Department Detective Bureau in the City of Upland.
