Azusa Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect

On March 31st, 2015, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a clerk from the Super 8 Motel at 117 N. Azusa Avenue, called 911 to report a robbery. The clerk told the dispatcher that two male suspects had forced their way into the office, and tied up the clerk. The suspects ransacked the office, taking cash and miscellaneous property, and fled from the scene. The clerk was able to get free and call the police.

Officers from the Azusa Police Department immediately responded to the scene. As they were arriving, an officer saw one of the suspects still fleeing the area, but he was quickly captured. Officers completed a thorough search of the area, and located a replica semi-automatic handgun, stolen items, and other evidence. Although officers searched for an extended amount of time, the second suspect was not located.

The captured suspect was a 45 year-old male from Los Angeles. He was arrested and transported to the Azusa Police Department's Jail.
