Azusa Police Investigate Stabbing of Two Subjects

On Sunday, August 23rd, 2015 at approximately 1:06 p.m., officers from the Azusa Police Department responded to the 600 block of E. Fifth Street in Azusa, regarding two people who had been stabbed.

Upon their arrival, the officers found one victim in the parking lot of a local church, and a second victim inside the church.  Both of the victims were suffering from multiple stab wounds.  Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived and treated the victims. The victims were transported to a local hospital, where one of them is in critical condition, and the other one is stable.

During the initial investigation, the officers learned that the two victims had been in an altercation with the suspect, when they were stabbed with an unknown object.  The victims fled to the nearby church, and the suspect left the area, before officers had arrived.  The only information about the suspect at this time is that he is a male.

Detectives from the Azusa Police Department arrived on the scene and conducted an investigation, with the assistance of personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Crime Lab.

At this time, it does not appear that this case is gang related, nor does it appear to be related to any other recent incidents, however, the investigation is on-going.
