On January 20, 2019 at approximately 7:15 pm, Azusa Police Officers were conducting enforcement operations in the area of Sixth Street and Cedarglen Avenue. The officers contacted a group of male subjects. During the contact, the investigating officers discovered that two of the subjects were carrying concealed handguns and two others were on probation for gang related activity.
Abraham Garcia of Riverside was one of the subjects arrested carrying a loaded firearm. Abraham Garcia was arrested earlier in the day at this same location by Azusa Police Officers for 272 PC- Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, which is a citable offense. Within hours of his release from the Azusa Police Department Jail, Garcia returned to this area to meet up with gang related minors. Garcia and one of the juveniles were both carrying loaded handguns.
During the course of this investigation, Azusa Police Department Detectives recovered Cocaine and Marijuana. Two of the juvenile gang members were arrested for Conspiracy to Sell Illegal Narcotics. One of the 16 year old juvenile subjects has been arrested by the Azusa Police Department on two previous incidents where he was in possession of a firearm within the past year.
Garcia is currently being held at the Azusa Police Department Jail. The three juvenile subjects are currently being held at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall.
