The pedestrian struck in this traffic collision, Michael Joseph Brizuela, age 50, of Baldwin Park passed away on May 7, 2018 at Pomona Valley Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in this traffic collision. This incident is still under investigation by the Azusa Police Department Traffic Bureau. INCIDENT:Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Irwindale Ave. and First Street, Azusa, CA 91702

AZPD CASE #: 18-15296
On May 4, 2018, at 1:56 AM, Azusa Police Department Officers were dispatched to the area of Irwindale Ave. and First Street regarding an injury traffic collision.The preliminary investigation revealed that an adult male pedestrian was crossing Irwindale Ave. outside of a marked crosswalk.A solo male driver of a small passenger car was traveling southbound on Irwindale Ave. The driver then collided with the pedestrian causing major injuries to the pedestrian. The Los Angeles County Fire Department also responded. The injured pedestrian was transported to Pomona Valley Medical Center and is currently in critical condition.
