On April 05, 2017 at approximately 5:43 p.m., Azusa Police Officers responded to a call of multiple gunshots fired in the area of the 500 Block E. Foothill Boulevard, Azusa. Upon officer arrival, officers learned that a shooting had occurred in the area, possibly resulting in at least one male victim being shot. However, suspect(s) had fled the area in a vehicle prior to officer arrival.

No victim was initially located at the scene, though it was learned that an injured male had left the area in a vehicle prior to officer arrival.

The Azusa Police Department was later contacted by an area hospital advising that a male adult had been admitted to their emergency room with at least one gunshot wound. Detectives responded to the hospital to speak with the subject.

The investigation is ongoing. A motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Azusa Police Department Detective Bureau. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Seth Chapman of the Azusa Police Department at (626) 812-3200
