On June 27th, 2014 at about 6:23 am, a 73 year-old female was walking in the crosswalk at Azusa Avenue and Ninth Street. A slow moving vehicle struck the female, causing her to sustain some non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle waited with the female until the police arrived. For precautionary measures, the female was transported to the Los Angeles County Medical Center by a Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter.
A preliminary investigation by officers at the scene indicated the motorist was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The traffic bureau will continue investigating this collision.
