Here’s the latest involving the storm and the city of Azusa…

There is steady rainfall within the city. So far, the only rain related damage has been a tree which fell in the 900 block of N. Enid Avenue, causing some damage to the front of the residence. There have been no rain related traffic incidents or outages.

Access to Fish Canyon Trail is currently closed for safety reasons.

enidWe are currently under a flash flood watch. The National Weather Service is advising of light to moderate rain until 1 pm. After that, there will be heavy rainfall, which could produce up to 1/2” of rain, per hour, between 1 pm and 8 pm. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms, and the rain should taper off after about midnight.

Police officers will be issuing voluntary evacuation notices to 11 residences on the east side of Ridgeview Drive. There are no mandatory evacuation orders in Azusa, at this time.

The Azusa Police Department has activated its Emergency Operations Center and is working with allied agencies in monitoring the storm and its impact on the city of Azusa.
