Police officers from the Azusa Police Department and paramedics from the LA County Fire Department are on their way, but you are at the victim's side within seconds. Being trained in CPR, you are able to perform life saving measures until the emergency personnel are on scene. The LA County Fire Department and The City Of Azusa

In the City of Azusa, firefighting and paramedic services are provided by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. There are two fire stations in Azusa; Station 97 on Sierra Madre Avenue and Station 32 on Angeleno Avenue. Station 32 houses the paramedics who respond to all emergency medical calls within the city. 

In addition to providing our community with the finest in emergency services, the LA County Fire Department now provides the PulsePoint service to not only the residents, business owners and visitors of Azusa, but all of Los Angeles County. Without the infrastructure and fiduciary of the LA County Fire Department, this technology would not be available here in Azusa.

Activated Through 911

When you call 911, a dispatcher from the Azusa Police Department will answer your call. If it is a medical or fire related call, you'll be transferred to the fire department's dispatch center. With the Azusa PD dispatcher monitoring the call, information is entered into the computer system, which immediately sends the PulsePoint app activation. As police and medical personnel are dispatched to the scene, anyone with the PulsePoint app near the victim will receive an alert on their phone. This alert will notify them of not only the situation, but show a map where the victim is located, as well as the nearest AED (Automatic External Defibrillator).

Easy To Use

Once you download the app, click on the menu icon on the upper left of the screen. When the menu slides open, click on "Settings." Under "Notification (All Agencies), click on CPR. Click on the menu app again and return to the home screen.

In the event a person stops breathing or CPR is needed, and 911 has been called, you will receive an alert on your phone if you are within 1/4 mile of the victim. The alert will not only show you where the victim is, but your location as well, to help you navigate to the scene. 

Please always remember to use caution when responding to the emergency. Obey all traffic laws and take safety precautions at all times. Remember, you are no good to the victim if you become a victim yourself.
