On 1-15-17 at approximately 12:12 AM, the Azusa Police Department responded to the intersection of Azusa Ave. and Sierra Madre Ave., regarding an injury traffic collision involving a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Prius. Both vehicles sustained major damage as a result of the collision. Three adult Azusa residents were transported to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. Emergency personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department treated all three adults at the scene. The 22 year old injured adult was transported via airship to the trauma center at USC Medical Center while the other two were transported to Foothill Presbyterian Hospital via ambulance. The cause of this collision is still under investigation by the Azusa Police Department Traffic Bureau. At this time, it is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were involved.
