Child Struck By Vehicle Dies Of Injuries

On Sunday, August 17th, at approximately 8:28 pm, Azusa Police Department received a call of a child being struck by a car at 989 W. Sierra Madre Avenue. Police officers and fire fighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived and found a two year old child who had sustained major injuries. The child was treated and transported to Los Angeles County Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The incident occurred on private property, and the preliminary investigation has revealed the child was accidentally struck by a family member. This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family during this very difficult time.

The incident is being investigated by the Azusa Police Department Traffic Bureau. Alcohol does not appear to be involved.
