Injury Traffic Collision Sends Two Females to Hospital

On April 25, 2015 at approximately 3:34 AM, Azusa Police Officers were dispatched to 250 E. First Street (Veterans of Foreign Wars) regarding a sport utility vehicle that collided with a pole.  Upon arrival at the scene, Azusa Police Officers contacted an off-duty firefighter who was conducting first aid on the vehicle’s two adult female occupants.   Azusa Police Officers secured the scene and Los Angeles County Fire Department Paramedics responded to treat the injured occupants.  Both females sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and were transported to Los Angeles County / USC Medical Center for further treatment.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver fell asleep while operating the vehicle and collided with the flag pole at the front of the VFW Post. The driver of the vehicle was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and the collision is currently under investigation by the Azusa Police Department.  No arrests have been made at this time.
