Due to several events occurring in the city, and the Christmas and Thanksgiving breaks, we did not have a chance to share with the community the SRO Student of The Month for November.
Blanca is a senior at Azusa High School. In her freshman year, she was part of the Band and Pageantry group. However, she ventured into soccer and running track for the last 3 years. Aside from her great athletic skills, she has a great sense of helping others. Blanca is a member of the Azusa High School's "Link Crew." This group consists of other seniors who assist the incoming freshman with adjusting to life on the high school campus.
Currently, Blanca is applying to go to Citrus College, Cal Poly Pomona or Cal State Los Angeles, to further her education. She currently maintains a 3.67 GPA. In addition to her great GPA, she maintains a great attitude, is highly disciplined and dedicated.
On behalf of Chief Sam Gonzalez, Officer Roland Martinez, and all the men and women of the Azusa Police Department, we congratulate you, Blanca Lopez, on being selected as the winner for the SRO Student of The Month Award for November, 2014. We wish you great success in your future endeavors.
This award was developed by Officer Roland Martinez while on a quest to find a way to establish a better rapport between high school students and law enforcement. It's important for our youth and law enforcement to communicate and work with each other to create great relationships and even better communities.
