On January 5th, 2014, at about 1:41 am, officers from the Azusa Police Department stopped a vehicle they saw traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Fifth Street and Cerritos Avenue, in Azusa.
The officers contacted the driver, Cameron Villapando, who is 22 from Covina. In speaking with Villapando, the officers soon discovered he was in possession of two loaded and concealed handguns. The officers were able to safely take Villapando into custody.
While they completed their investigation, officers also found Villapando was in possession of composite knuckles, metal knuckles and a switchblade knife. All of these items can cause serious injury or death when used.
Villapondo was transported to the Azusa Police Department's jail, where he was booked. He was later issued a citation to appear in court, and released from the jail.
